I understand you frustration but it has been a simple process for many
and it seems you have had similar issues on every upgrade you have
attempted given your postings on this list re- 514 softload in June09
and in this January etc.

I know it may be difficult but at this stage you need to perhaps take
time to reflect on your issues and take time out from trying to sort
things out and perhaps revisit some other time.

My view is look in what you have set up to automatically run at boot
up via the configuration window and Boot and the Run options and take
them all out so you have a machine that is booting from a completely
clean point of view and not loading any applications.

I see that someone has given similar advice about this re-not loading
!Printers.

In addition by the fact that you manually run the Configure set up in
your choices and it sets up your Monitor points to the fact that you
do have an issue with the boot sequence and not the 5.16 ROM in it's
self.

I would also suggest running "Reporter by Martin Avison rather than
all this faffing around with taking this out and that out as it may
point you to where the problem is.

However I would take time to read the set up and only then when you
are clear of how to set it up and have run it then come back on the
list for further advice.

I appreciate this sounds daunting, given the fact that you are
non-techie as you say, but given this very fact I think this is the
better way that you delving in the innards of !Boot and deleting
things left right and centre which can only end up in further issues
and further frustration for you.

Hope this helps
