The new version of CDVDBurn does let me rip tracks from an Audio CD. Not checked the results in detail, but they sound OK at a first listen. However I've not yet been able to write any discs. The logfile lists a series of errors wrt scsi ID. (I presume here SCSI means the USB.) Checking, *scsidevices gives me *scsidevices File 'scsidevices' not found *devices Device Type Capacity Vendor Product Revision 0:0.0 Direct-access Unknown Generic USB SD Reader 1.00 0:0.1 Direct-access Unknown Generic USB MS Reader 1.03 0:1.0 Read-only Unknown Optiarc DVD RW AD-7740H 1.00 * which shows the drive as "Read only". So might that be the cause of the problem? About 10+ years ago when I had *real* scsi systems I did have to play about with scsi settings for devices to get things working. But I've long forgotten how to do this or the relevant commands. And now, of course scsi really means 'usb' so things may be different. Can anyone comment on this and say how I might make the 'scsi' allow the drive to accept writes? I'll also ask around elsewhere. I've also emailed Steffen about this.
