Tech support has to be one of the very worst jobs on the
planet. Anyone
who does well at it is immediately promoted out of it, or finds
a job
where strangers don't yell at them all day. It's not often that
I'm as
frustrated as when I'm trying to help my newbies over the
telephone:
"Please don't click anything until I tell you to." "Right-click
means
right-click". "Silence doesn't help me." "I can't see your
screen."
At least with my regulars I can question their sanity or
membership in
the human race, but the poor tech support guy has to just eat
it in
silence. I even have a few who don't speak English well, just
to make it
more interesting.
