Sure, it "could" further compound the mess. You should maybe try and remove all previous 5610 'ware before installing it again. This is when you should be running an ERUNT backup each time before doing something that could make things worse. Do you really need both 5160 and 2810? I can't say what they mean by the "basic features driver", that 'should' include the fax. -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://www.OrpheusComputing.com http://www.ComputersCustomBuilt.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "David Grossman" Yes, Hugh, I found a smaller install on the HP site. I'm downloading both the 5610 full install and the Basic Features drivers from HP right now. However, I'll need assistance from you and the other PCWorkers on installing the Basic Features driver. After all, it will be installed on top of the defective full install, which was installed on top of the HP 2810 driver. Won't that further compound the mess? The HP site says, "The Basic Feature drivers are intended for home users who want a basic print and scan driver to use with their HP All-in-One device. This software installation can be used on PCs that do not meet the minimum system requirements necessary to install the HP Full/Express Feature software/drivers." Does that mean that the Basic Features driver will not support my fax? Furthermore, my PC does meet the minimum requirements for the driver. The problem is not my system. The problem is HP's driver. This is very confusing.
