In short:
- I still propose the message a user gets when a window first disappears (see my previous email), as I do acknowledge & understand Johan's issue here;

A messages seems a bit annoying for me. As a developper, I often reinstall a fresh image of Haiku to test things out and I don't really want the message to pop up again. You also proposed to have a checkbox or some other system to make the dialog not show up again. This mean we have to save this somewhere, and also offer a way to revert it if the user wants the message back. It seems to me that this adds a lot of things and unneeded complexity. The HIG say "Avoid popup dialogs whenver possible".

What about a solution like flashing the deskbar entry where the window went hidden ? It's not eyecandy animation, as it does not get in the way for powerusers, and still it gives you some visual feedback as to what happened.
