No. The DBS companies are being forced to offer a basic free service 
because of REAL competition from Freeview and equivalents around 

Competition is a wonderful thing. Too bad it does not exist in the 
world of TV here in the home of capitalism.

You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways:

- Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at 

- By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word 
unsubscribe in the subject line.
