Hi all, I hope you’re all well. I’ve been at home today, although have spoke to
the home, Cristina has been there, and is also working tonight, the residents
have had a relaxed day, watching tv and films and the staff have also been
using the hairdressers
and doing some of their hairs. For lunch they have had Battered fish & chips,
peas or smoked haddock, new potatoes & mushy peas. For pudding they had Jam
roly-poly & custard and for tea they had Ploughman’s & black forest gateau.
It has been an emotional day for the staff, we have lost the gentleman that was
poorly on the dementia floor, as said he no COVID symptoms, but I’m not sure if
he will go down as suspected, it seems that with the GPs they are listing
anyone that is ill as suspected.
It a bit upsetting for me, it was my first day of in about 4 weeks and didn’t
get to say goodbye.. also the 2 girls that look after him the most Sharon and
Ama were also off so didn’t get to say goodbye. It’s definitely got to me
today, this whole situation,
I have been crying most of the day, the whole fear and uncertainty of this
surreal situation, none of you being able to come in and visit, the whole world
seems empty, maybe I am better at work as less time to think things through.
Last night was emotional too, at 8pm again we had completely forgotten the
time, and heard this cheering and noise, and we look out the windows and the
whole street was outside, cheering at clapping, and waving, and bowing as we
watched from the windows waving
back.
Please take care of yourselves and stay safe
Kind Regards
Catherine Tero
