I hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine, I had to work a night shift
last night as a nurse due to last minute sickness.
I phoned the ward in MKGH where my lady from the dementia is to see how she is
doing and the results for the Covid 19 have come back positive.... She has,
however, been moved to a general medical ward and is doing really well, they
have said she is fit for
discharge, but she will need an assessment first before we accept her back, I
have spoke with her son also and he fully supports we cannot put the other
residents and my staff at a further risk. We still have another poorly chap on
the dementia unit with a
chest infection and he is being barrier nursed just incase.
I had a meeting with the staff this morning and informed them, there was a few
tears, but on leaving they were all good and have worked really well today.
The whole unit has been deep cleaned again, including all dolls, nik-nacs,
clothing, bedding etc. Annette
came in to do the laundry to releive Ross so 3 domestics of them could focus
All the other residents are well and in good spirits. (I really hope it says
that way and we have been on top of it).
I have the bi-monthly residents meeting on Tuesday and to be perfectly honest I
don't know what to tell them... there will be a good attendance too as they
have been asking. They know are something is wrong in the world and we have
been reasuring them throughout...
..yourselves not visiting,..... staff being of sick..... but I truly do not
know what to say, so any ideas would be welcome, I don't want to worry them
On a brighter note, they have had lovely roast gammon with all the trimmings, &
bread & butter pudding. For tea they have vegetable soup and sandwiches and
black forest gateaux, in the mist of all this, Millie set of the fire alarms by
burning the teacakes
but it did cheer everyone up when the fire brigade came out...
Residents have been face timing, have been out in the garden again enjoying the
lovely sunshine, they have been watching gardening programs, Midsummer murders
and now are eagerly awaiting the Queens speech...
Please keep voting for my staff and the home on the mmcg website for the care
awards ..... They all deserve to be recognised for what they do, if you need
surnames please contact us as you will have to put their whole name in for it
to be verified.
Please keep safe, love from us all as always
