Subject: Update
Hi All,
Well, its the end of March Already, what a year so far, all the residents are
still all fine, we have had a couple staff today phone in sick with Cough/cold
but nothing untoward, but I have told them need to stay as home and self
isolate.
Cristina is well again and is returning to the other home in Surrey to help
out.
We have had an enjoyable day, Sharon (Carer) has been in doing hair, shes
actually very good! She has took pics and will send me later, so I will send to
you, she is coming in as extra again on Thursday to continue.
I have attached the menu for today, also we have had Keep fit on nursing and
ground floor and pampering sessions and pub quiz in the lounge and on dementia
we have had Easter bonnet making, we have 2 ladies up there at the minute that
love cleaning, so they
have been busy with polishing and wiping all the surfaces, washing up and
general tidying etc.
On residential also we have had a little dance and sing-a-long.
We continue to busy with phone calls from yourselves, some families are
continuously phoning, even when we say call back as they are doing mediation
round, they will phone again and try to get transferred,
this has to stop, please be mindful that the nurses and head of departments
take charge of their floor, they have to manage the staff, breaks and monitor
the residents and manage the shift, they cannot always answer the phone, we do
have to care to deliver
and it was quite infuriating today when different family members where phoning
for the same residents, if nurses are doing medications, wound care, your call
will not be transferred this is protected and there are times, many times, when
we are contacting
other Medical Multi-disciplinary's, where they cannot answer, also now with
the outbreak, all of medical assessments and reviews are conducted over the
phone, including verification of death, so please please be mindful.
On a positive I had a conference call today via video link with HO, it was very
informative and offered fantastic guidance, I had had a meeting with the staff
and informed them, everyone is very positive
Take care love from us all
Kind Regards
Catherine Tero
