The Classic case has an elliptical power button on the front and a circular reset button also on the front. You must have a different case design. Check the symbols on or next to the buttons on your case. The power button will probably have a vertical line through a gap in the top of a circle. The reset button on my Classic case is a circular double headed arrow. >>Release and immediately press and hold in the circular button and >>count to six. > Release what? The wait is needed after turning the power off, either at the mains or on the back of the case. I think it's to allow the power supply to discharge capacitors so that when you restart you don't get any carry over effects from the freeze. >>Using this proc I've never seen pyjamas - but sometimes it doesn't >>excite the screen. > Oh. As you haven't mentioned that problems started during reflashing the ROM, I suspect that your Iyonix is freezing during the boot process before it displays anything on the screen. Which is why turning off all power is needed before you have any chance of a successful restart. I suggest you check whether the power supply is working properly. If you have a digital multi-meter you can check the supply voltage on the 5V line. Somewhere back in the list archives there is a figure that John Ballance provided for the original power supply that indicated when the power supply was out of spec. However as you seem to have a more recent case you may have a different power supply. So it might be easier just to try a different power supply and see if that improves the boot reliability. This is especially so if the power supply is several years old.
