Toastmaster: Jennifer Dunne
Theme: Palindrome. A number, word, or phrase that reads the same
backwards and forwards. The longest English palindrome is a short story of
nearly 5000 words. (Excellent theme and loved the way you utilized
palindrome with each member with their roles).

Simple person born 1951. Oldest of 7 brothers. When he was 4 years
old, mom refuses vaccination for polio. At 8 years old, he gets polio and
is on crutches. Therapy and 100% recovery. This person is motivated to
study medicine and in 1969 he's in medical school and becomes an
anesthesiologist. He retired in 2010 and has earned different diplomas.
He is an electrician, plumber, and plays the guitar. His message is never
stop learning and love your family. He's my Dad.

Word of the day: Poetic. Adjective, relating to or used in poetry.

Prisoner in Florence. Guards on either side shout out "Ralph, Ralph,
Ralph". "28" is shout out and there's laughter. "3" is shout out and
there's more laughter. Near the end of the door, "40" more laughter.
Ralph is told rules we can't tell jokes so it's jokes by numbers. Ralph
yells out "20" and there's silence, no one laughs. Problem, you have to
learn how to tell it.

Two types of speakers. One's that get nervous and ones that are liars.
Anxiety triggers. 1. New and unknown situation. 2. Risk of failure.
3. Appearing foolish. Anxiety symptoms. 1. Increase heart rate. 2.
Butterflies in the stomach. Management of anxiety - preparation, quiet
your inner critic, know your not alone. Conclusion. Normal to feel
nervous and audience won't notice.
Speaker #2. Alan Wong.
Feng Shui. Forbidden City built and designed by Feng Shui masters. All
were killed after the city was built. Binary codes were designed to pass
the philology to future generations. Yin and Yang leads to trigrams.
Trigrams leads to the hexagram and the I Ching.

4. Kathy Barrett. Golf? No sir, prefer prison flog. I think not. Flog
- teeing off?
5. Hunter (guest). If I had a hi fi. Rare form of drink. Vikings
concoction before battle.

Evaluator #1. Kathy Barrett on Katelynn.
Improved greatly over the years. Engaged all of us in public speaking.
Topic we can relate to. Introduction and exercise was great. Video did
not play but moved on.
Evaluator #2. Jeremiah Sanchez (guest) on Alan
Yin and Yang, met objectives. Description of the Ba Gua was interesting.
The topic of Feng Shui made me more interested with this topic. Calm
voice. Could make better use of the stage.
Shirley Eaves on the evaluators - On Kathy, hurried, solid objectives,
spoke on a personal level. Room for improvements, positive comments. On
Jeremiah, read objectives clearly. Commanded the stage well after being
gone for 1.5 years. True sign of leader by stepping in to evaluate.
Recommend applause all the way through when members come up to the stage
and applause all the way through until they sit back down.
Ah-Counter: Jonathan Kolber - dings on Durga, Kathy, and Jeremiah. None
on Shirley because she was the GE.
Grammarian: Lori High.
Kathy - congratulating Katelynn on achieving the fear.
Jennifer - Palindrome appropriate and creative. Gavel with a purpose. Big

The meeting started on time and we finished the meeting five minutes
early. Jennifer was a wonderful toastmaster. She kept the meeting moving
along and everyone was entertained with all the Palindromes.
Congratulations to all the ribbon winners. Shirley to Robin on Table
Topics "You outdid yourself" and I agree. There were 12 members and two
guests. Jeremiah was a past member so I guess he only counts as a partial
guest and it was good to see him again. Quote: "The mind is a wonderful
thing. It starts working the minute you are born and never stops until you
get up to speak in public".
In case you missed it, it was another great meeting and another meeting
where you should've been there. Until next time, I am your humble
