say something fun that they are doing this summer. Robin McIntosh and
Durga Prasad both said they were growing grass. (*I personally think they
should set their activity bar a little higher)* until Ray Pezolt said he
wanted to get out of bed.

Listening Barriers. 1. Distracted by noise. 2. Day Dreaming. 3. Lack
of interest in speakers subject. 4. Cannot focus. 5. Pay attention to
speaker. 6. Complex subject. 7. Avoid listening, taking too much of
your time.

Sep 2016. Internet backbone. Securing smart devices. Security awareness
last seven years. Unexpected home and business became Internet hacks.
Internet of things are security issues. Connected devices makes life
simpler. Profit, not in security, comes with no password. Most devices
are difficult to update. Device becomes more at risk. What to do? 1.
Connect only if you need to. 2. Create separate wi fi network. 3.
Update when possible. 4. Strong password. 5. replace devices. Solution
is YOU.

HMS Victory started construction 1759. 100 acres of oak forest, about 5000
trees. 27 miles of rigging. 3923 pieces of copper hull. 104 cannons. 7
anchors. Admiral Lord Nelson born 1758. He was small and weak. Almost
died of malaria. Lost an eye in battle. Lost his right arm in another
battle. The battle of Trafalgar 1805. 26 British ships against 39 ships
to France and Spain. Of the 39 ships belonging to France and Spain, 23
were captured or sank. How many did the British lose? Answer. . . zero.

Conscious competence learning model. Studying human behavior.
Start with unconscious incompetence. Then to conscious incompetence. Then
to conscious competent and finally to unconscious competent. We all come
from rug rats, except for Robin. He came from bread mold. Daughter
discovers shoe laces. Figured out how to tie shoe laces. Daughter is now
27 years old and can tie her shoe lace in a dark room, now unconscious
competent. Be aware of stages for employees and as a speaker.

wrote it. Tell us what inspired you to write this song and how it came
about?

4th grade. Play ground, monkey bars. Stopped mid swing and noticed
"her". Blond beauty, Donna, first girlfriend. No longer interested
because she's dating Jerry. She was my one fire, my one desire.
2. Jennifer Dunne: We can dance if you to, We can leave our friends
behind by Men without hats. Boogie. Need someone from other side to dance
with. We can dance if you want to. . .
3. Ray Pezolt: Getting born in the state of Mississippi, her poppa was a
copper, mama was a hippie by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Sitting and watching
people, Mustang Sally.
4. Jonathan Kolber: What's with these homeys dissing my girl by Weezer.
Voice challenge. Three of us in the band. Eye on gal, band came to
blows.
5. Phil Poplawski: Forgive sounds good. Forget not sure I could by Dixie
Chicks. Surgery was a success. Sally into Phillip. 6 foot 3 polish
dude.
6. Luke Vesely: I saw her at the reception, a glass of wine in her hand
by Rolling Stones. Called into radio station, won ticket to show.
Drinking Jack and coke. Lady drinking a glass of wine with other women.
If known she would become 6 foot 3 polish guy, I'd pass.
7. Robin McIntish: Go shorty it's your birthday by 50 cent. I work for
RTD so we refer to them as shorty. The Hoi Polloi can make remarks on high
side. Start talking about short people on their birthday. We don't care
it's your birthday.
8. Katelynn Stoll: I've got my first six string bought it at the five and
dime by Bryan Adams. My dad passed down ukulele. Real six string from
dad. Ukulele from Hawaii
General Evaluator: Patti Apple
Evaluator #1: Luis Estrada on Shirley. Congratulations on 2nd project.
Speech was easy to follow and understand. Message was clear. Transitions
were good. Dominant voice on stage and had good gestures. Things to
improve on. Read about 70% and looked at the audience about 30%. Started
quick and got better and better. Receive the benefits. Have precautions.
Evalutor #2: Luke Vesely on Alan. Objective historic event or person.
Over achiever because he did both. Good facts and figures. Description of
tactics. Lord Nelson and climax with the battle of Trafalgar. Good hand
gestures with the ship. Need more dialogue. A lot of numbers. Even if
some of us have one eye, we can still excel.
Evaluator #3: Phil Poplawski on Dirk. Amazing speech. Organized.
Conviction? Maybe. Big note card. 5 to 7 min teaser. Something to walk
away with. Feedback, what do you remember from the board? Simple words.
Points given. Smoothness. Love to learn more.

Lori High ended the meeting with is the Law of Attraction working for you
or against you?
There were 16 members in attendance with no guests. Lori High is an
excellent toastmaster. She is organized and the theme on Law of Attraction
is awesome. It can be an entire two hour session all by itself. If the
table topics are hard to read, it was because the topics were challenging.
Good job Russ on getting everyone to wish their names would not be called
on. I especially like Jeff Stoll's gesture master comment on Lori High's
"mundane hand shake". Very observant, accurate, enlightening. It made me
go wow, how did he pick up on that? Congratulations to all the ribbon
winners. It was another awe-inspiring toastmasters meeting. I know it's
hard to believe that every meeting can be so exceptional but it kind of
