Time/Joker: Shirley Eaves: John drives to Georgia to visit his 90 year
old grandfather. Breakfast with dirty dishes. John asks if the dishes are
clean. Grandfather says it's as clean as cold water gets. Lunch with
dirty dishes. John asks and Grandfather says it's as clean as cold water
gets. Grandfather calls for the dog. . .named Cold Water.

series. Pittsburgh eventually wins the world series. Keep Pushing. Small
victory's everyday.
Speaker #1. Alan Wong. Land of Oz.
This was one of my most creative speeches. Oz told me I'd meet a good
friend who's favorite letters are R. . .T. . . D. and I'll know him by his
name badge when I meet him. I practiced the speech during the week and I
thought I was ready. And then I lost the trail of bread crumbs along the
way and when I found it, it just turned out to be just an average speech.
Speaker #2. Ray Pezolt. Presentation, the worse seat. Why do you do what
you do? Book by Scott McCain, All Business is Show Business. Survey for
Nordstrom and Walmart. 17% shop for price only. 83% shop for the
experience. Garth Brooks sitting and playing to the worse seat in the
house.
Speaker #3. Jennifer Dunne.
Lydia Barrington Darragh, a Philadelphia Quaker who became a Patriot spy
during the American Revolution. Son enlisted under General Washington.
Keep Boy safe. Allows General Hal of the British Army to use her home.
Messages sewn into her buttons and passed to son across enemy line.
British surprise attach is met by Washington's Army. Lydia Darragh saved
the United Sates of American. More importantly she saved her son.
Speaker #4. Russ Agnew.
Mighty Warrior. Soldier named Rock. Paper stands as proud as ever.
Scissor enters the story. Rock, paper, scissors. Many epic battles. They
were practicing to help each other out. Russ wins the speech ribbon.
Congratulations Russ.

1. Lori High: After cleaning the house, how do you reward yourself for a
job well done? She drinks.
2. Shirley Eaves: What makes spring cleaning fun? What makes it more fun
is making husband do it.
3. Luis Estrada: Cleaning the garage, you find something truly shocking.
Why is it so shocking and what is it? I don't wait for the reward, I
reward in the beginning. I like to clean.
4. Kathy Barrett. Go to sister's house Karen. Dust everywhere, carpet is
soiled with pet poo. How do you handle this mess? Sister Karen is a
mess. Moved away. Sister is better now.
5. Bill Farrand: Do robots have a future cleaning your house? I find
this whole topic of cleaning quite repugnant. Don't want a robot that nags
at me.

Dressed the part (wore a tie). Cleaver use of words to inform with
incongruity. Examples, gold bars, white fillings, peaceful death, car
crash. Suggest experimenting with other forms of humor. Nervous and
fidgeting.
#2 Evaluator Jonathan Kolber on Ray.
Challenge to evaluate Ray because he sets the bar high. Command of
subject. Smooth delivery. Great command of stage. Improvements, looked
away from audience and rubbed hands. Started with entertainment over
knowledge and ended speech with knowledge. Well delivered speech.
#3 Evalauator Robin McIntosh on Jennifer.
Masterful speech on historical event and story telling. Does not need
garb. Great use of body, face, and voice. Spoke as a mother would.
Gestures on squeaky stairs, body language. Eyes lit up like orbs of fire.
I leaned back from the heat.

R. . P. . S stands for rapid, pressure, and silly. Some transitions were
weak. Good job giving yourself a break from your contest speech.

It was another fun filled evening. 14 members and 4 guests. I
appreciate how much work goes into a speech. It's not the prize of the
ribbon that I personally go after. It's the experience and a chance to
compete that drives me. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to win but it's not
the ultimate prize. Congratulations to all the ribbon winners. It's going
to push the rest of us to improve and be better next time. The two hours
went by quick like it always does. Pattie did an excellent job as
toastmasters. Luke had thought provoking questions for table topics and
General Evaluator Bill was as entertaining as ever. You really Should've
