Toastmasters meeting at the Moo G. Moon Education Center
Greetings Fellow Toastmasters
Toastmaster for the evening was Bill Farrand. Theme for the evening was
dogs.
"If there are no dogs in heaven, then when I die I want to go where they

Greeter: Dirk and Robin
Ah- Counter: Ray Pezolt
Grammarian/WOD: Katelynn Stoll. Word of the day was Capitulate. To cease
to resist an opponent or unwelcome demand; surrender.
Timer/Joker: Dirk Kittredge
Inspiration: Kathy Barrett
General Evaluator: Marieta Farrington
Table Topics: Lori High
Speaker #1: Jeff Stoll. Balloon dogs and how to make one.
Speaker #2: Susie Kirksey Minskey. Hank Williams.
Speaker #3: Alan Wong. Life Well Spent.
Speaker #4: Russ Agnew. Moses Moses.
And the winner was Alan Wong. (Yay). Jeff Stoll did a good job with
balloon animals. Anytime you use a prop, it tends to increase the chances
of winning. And everyone loves balloon animals. Susie did a good job
talking with Hank Williams. My speech was on Morals. Enjoy the activities
that you do. Cherish the friends you do these activities with. For at the
end, you want to say "Life Well Spent". And Russ did a good job using a
lighter as a prop. He mentioned that he was not going to do the speech
because of anxiety. Emotional tugs to the audience also increases the
chance of winning. It was his first speech to our group and I thought he
did an excellent job.

Dirk: Picture of a dalmation. Friends of fire Department. Dogs meant to
be with Humans. Dogs are awesome. And Dirk won Table Topics (surprise).
Katelynn: Best way to find a puppy.
Kathy: Dogs smile? Yes they do. And they make eye contact. Dogs would
do well in Toastmasters.
Marieta: What to give a dog for comfort? Sock.
General Evaluator was: Marieta Farrington.
Evaluator #1. Jennifer Dunn.
Great evaluation on Jeff Stoll. Squeak, squeak, squeak, POP.
Evaluator #2. Pattie Apple.
Posture, cement feet and smile. Researched well.
Evaluator #3. Robin McIntosh.
I do believe this was the first time Robin has ever evaluated me. And he
won (Congratulations). I suppose it helps to mention your evaluator in
your speech. Soft spoken, quiet command. And best part of speech was when
it got to Robin.
Evaluator #4. Jerrod Hannah.
Distracted by lighter. I guess we all thought Russ was going to light the
cigarette. Displaced. Improvement is our greater thing.
Marieta did an excellent job being General Evaluator. Excellent feedback
to all the evaluators.
Kathy Barrett was Quiz Master:
1. What is the scent of dog? Fritos
2. Dalmations spot - come through age.
3. What was Susie's title speech? Man, Myth, Legend.
4. What color was Jeff's Balloon dog? Yellow. (was it yellow? I thought
it was white. Maybe it was black)?
5. In Russ's speech, who is Pharaoh? Answer "We are".
Ray gave his report being Ah-Counter and dinged Jerrod with "only" 6 ums.
Jarrod replied there was only 2 minutes. (he would have given Ray more ums
if he had more time - too funny).
Bill was an excellent Toastmaster for the evening. He kept the evening
moving along. Dog theme was entertaining and like most meetings that we
have, the time went by quick. We had 20 people in attendance. 17 members
and 3 guests.
The meeting was another memorable evening (and not because I won). Sorry
if you missed the meeting because you should've been there.
