Yes, the host can sotre them for automation purposes, but the user doesnt
have to see them.


Then how is the user supposed to manipulate them on the timeline?

I was under the impression that the idea with blobs is that, although the value 
being set is opaque and variable in size, everything else about it can be 
manipulated as normal.
