I find Duxbury to be a very blind-friendly program. In fact, I prefer using
it to any other word processor.

The most important thing which helps me is using a braille display. I'd go
nuts if I had to rely on speech.

Duxbury is the only Windows program which has a decent user-friendly search
and highlight features. The goto feature is also very easy to use. All of
those features are much easier to access with DBT than Word 2000 or Ability
Write.

Don breda has made an excellent set file for WindowEyes and DBT. I hope it
will be just as user-friendly in the new version of DBT.

I received braille manuals for both the DOS and Windows versions of DBT and
most of the commands were the same in both versiions.

The manuals mentioned using the mouse instead of keyboard commands, but the
User Guide mentioned Keyboard commands.

One thing scares me--George mentioned the new help menus being similar to
the JAWS help menus. I hope this won't ruin things for the WindowEyes
users! If it weren't for DBT and WindowEyes, I might have given up try to
learn Windows XP and doing anything with the OS. My thanks goes to Duxbury
Systems and GW Micro. Keep up the good work.

: Hey guys,
:
: This is Fina Currey in Austin, Texas. I had heard somewhere, that Megadots
: and Duxbury had already merged? Was that just a rumor or did it really
happen?
:
: I tried using Megadots a long time ago and all it did was confuse me.
: Although I agree that Duxbury needs to be way more blind-friendly, I
: personally, still prefer Duxbury to Megadots. If in fact Megadots has more
: blind-friendly features and caters more to the blind transcriber than the
: sighted and if they and Duxbury haven't indeed merged, maybe it would be
: possible for both software programs to share ideas and capabilities?
:
: Thanks for reading.
