I've been out of town a lot and just catching up on all that has transpired with this topic, so I need to back up a bit. I couldn't figure out why there was embosser info with the BANA template, as I've been very careful to not include that when I'm working on the "clean" template. FYI: I typically keep 2 to 3 versions of 10.5 on my computer. I have shipping/SR1, beta, and sometimes the autobuild set up in different folders. When I went back to find out why the BANA template had embosser info, I discovered that an embosser configuration in ANY of the templates, in ANY of the various 10.5 I have on my computer, affects ALL versions and ALL templates. Based on this, I'm finding it impossible to set up a separate embosser configuration for a particular template, as it immediately changes the templates AND Global settings.

I downloaded the 3/15 autobuild while I was out of town and have it on my notebook, along with the shipping/SR1 and beta versions. After I installed the autobuild, I started having problems with the earlier versions. When I start SR1 or beta, I get a message:

Syntax error in emb.elt at or near line 551. Embossing disabled.

I click OK and DBT starts. Then I go to Global | Embosser Setup and I get a Memory Low message (I've just turned on the computer).

I can start the autobuild version without a problem.

I know it probably is better to keep one issue per message, but this is along the same line as the issue of the embosser configuration being read across all versions. As I work on the BANA template (as a different named template), it shows up in ALL versions of 10.5.

My purpose in keeping the various versions available is so I can go back and compare how things may or may not have functioned. Obviously that isn't the case here, and
DBT is sharing info between the versions.

I guess my question is ... is DBT supposed to be sharing this info across the various versions? I do I ever really know then, if a problem is from the current version I think I'm running vs. a problem that stems from another version?

Susan
