I'd much prefer something built into the OS such that anything that could be
printed could be saved as ps or pdf. It would make sense to have a single
printer icon on the icon bar that, when chosen and printing activated, a save
as ps / save as pdf  window popped up with the choice to drag to a directory.
NB The current save to file from printers is unsatisfactory for forgetful
people like myself who are always liable to overprint a ps file with something
intended to go elsewhere! ;-(

A question for David/Martin: is there any possibility of having the extended
format pdfs that would help with producing files for commercial printers?
