It is going to be another useless discussion, I'm afarid.

In the first place, these kind of sets are NOT for everybody.
Just like when the old people don't know how to use a 40 button remote
control.
If it takes too much of your time, just tell them to contact the people they
purchased it from, and let them use THEIR valuable time to train, and
educate THEIR customer.

We are in the REPAIR business,...NOT the sales end of the deal.
Charge a modest service call,...maybe even somewhat less then you would
normally charge. Put the TV in the right mode, and tell them NOT to touch
certain buttons, if they aren't sure what they are doing. Tell them to read
and study their operation manual, and teach "themselfs" how to operate the
TV properly.
