? now you're attempting to challenge by "quoting" things I didn't say? What, pray tell is the frame rate? I note all sorts of statistics there, but not the frame rate. Is it greater than 12 fps? And, just to point out again, my bit rate at home is 1.8 mb/seconds. The bit rate with the circuit I'm now using is 1.2 mb/sec. Let me know when you can watch a -- say -- NFL game in HD at home with a frame rate greater than 12 fps. John Willkie, who knows all about playing games with frame rates to make streaming work. -----Mensaje original----- De: opendtv-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:opendtv-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] En nombre de Craig Birkmaier Enviado el: Tuesday, December 09, 2008 6:16 AM Para: OpenDTV Mail List Asunto: [opendtv] Can't stream HD? So John says that you can't stream HD with decent quality. I beg to differ. Take a look at the 720P version of these artbeats clips shot with the RED camera: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/guide/hd/artbeats_red.html Or you can compare the 480P and the 1080P. For the 720P version the bit rate is just less than 6 Mbps, well within the range for streaming. This content is compressed with h.264, and much of it is VERY demanding. I noticed a bit of contouring in some of the sky scenes, but those were the only artifacts I could see at full 720P resolution on my 15" Macbook display.
