I know that, on the PC at least, you need to re-install Windows Media Player after installing QuickTime to make your media playback as you intend it. And, you are comparing apples to oranges. There hasn't been a new Mac version of Windows Media Player in several years; Flip4Mac from Telestream is the successor to that one. It's really quite annoying -- each time you install QuickTime -- to tell it to only grab the .mov and .qt files, then have it override your selections. You know it's happened when .wmv and .wma files have the QuickTime icon. It has been more than a few years since I've had WMP hijack my player/file preferences. And, in the interest of full disclosure, I need to point out that RealPlayer is worse in this regard, but somehow the Rhapsody player doesn't seem to hijack files as blatantly. But, of course, I know "nothing" of Quick Time or media players. I have been using Quicktime Pro since they create the paid version in the late '90s, so the full screen feature has always been there...for me. > >The other thing that bothers me about QuickTime is that it is always >trying to take over being default player for all media types. I think both have the option to disable this annoying "feature."
