We took KR Neilsen, birded the path around the pond there, then went to the 
pond by Cantrell Road, just east of the little bridge, spending most of the 
time there.  We then birded Perkin's Peninsula (PP), scoping birds on and over 
the water.  We happened upon a small mixed flock of warblers in the reeds and 
trees at the edge of the peninsula, which were are only warblers (except 
Yellowthroats).  

Canada Goose - large numbers of both geese on the lake water off Royal 
Cackling Goose - same
Mallard - couple
Northern Shoveler - 1
Western Grebe - 2
Clark's Grebe - 3
White Pelican - 36
Double-crested Cormorant - 1
American Bittern - 1 Cantrell
Great Blue Heron - 4
Green Heron - 2 Cantrell
Great Egret - many, but didn't get a count
Ring-necked Pheasant - none seen but hunters were shooting at them
Turkey Vulture -  10
White-tailed Kite - 2 seen from Neilsen pond
Northern Harrier - 1
Red-shouldered Hawk - 1 beautiful soaring adult catching the morning sunshine

Red-tailed Hawk  - 2
American Kestrel - 3
Killdeer - not many
Black-bellied Plover - 2 scoped from PP across the water toward Royal
Semipalmated Plover - about 12 at PP
Greater Yellowlegs - maybe 6 at Cantrell
Lesser Yellowlegs - at least 12 at Cantrell
Pectoral Sandpiper - at least 13 at Cantrell
Western Sandpiper - 10+  at PP
Least Sandpiper - 17+, most at PP
Spotted Sandpiper - 1
Long-billed Dowitcher - 6 at Cantrell, some off of PP
Wilson’s Snipe - 12+
Caspian Tern - 6
Belted Kingfisher - 4
Northern Flicker - 1
Black Phoebe - 2 Cantrell
Tree Swallow - some mixed in flock at Neilsen
Violet-green Swallow - many mixed in flock
