Follow Dian's advice. Do not unprotect and reprotect
the document. I would say your best bet would be to
write your status in another file and copy and paste it
to the form instead of copying and pasting within the
form.

I have very little experience with Word 2000, I went
straight from 97 to XP. When 2000 came out, I was
given a copy of PPT 2000 as a gift. As I didn't need
the rest of the suite in 2000, I never bought it. Ask
me about Word XP, I can answer. Ask me about 2000, I
can't. I am sorry for confusing the issue.
