Very sorry for making you nuts<g>...but you are right and I was wrong.
This option is NOT in 2000. I just double checked and I must have
reopened XP thinking I was in 2000 when I quickly checked the other day.
It gets confusing with 4 version of Word on one system!

Sorry...guess the option in XP "is" the fix they added to adjust the
selection capabilities from 2000.

So it appears your only options are to copy text from other doc or have
the designers redo the form for better performance.

Just curious...WHAT is it that you have to copy/paste over and over????

There is no such option available in my list under
Tools/Options/Compatibility. I have selected recommendations for
Microsoft Word 2000. Thinking that this document may have been created
on an older version of Word, I looked at setting the recommendations for
all other versions. I still do not have that option available.

Am I looking in the wrong place?
