Jes,

I know it seems like fighting an uphill battle sometimes but don't give up on it. In my first COBOL class, we copied a program from the teacher and all we had to do was compile it. But I got a bunch of errors and started thinking maybe I wasn't cut out for this. As it turned out, the teacher made a mistake in writing the program out on the board; so, we all got errors trying to compile.

Bottom line is to to not give up. Post your code here on the list and I am sure we can help you get on a successful path to writing code. As someone else stated, don't be discouraged by a bunch of error messages because a simple thing can cause an error that then has the effect of generating a bunch of other errors. So, sometimes its just a simple fix that corrects a bunch of errors at once.

Hang in there and know that you have people on this list who want to help you be successful.

Hi all,

All I get when using visual studio are nothing but errors! I just want to be able to write a program and have it work! Just once! But no. All I get are errors! So what's the use in even trying? Encouragement needed badly!
Thanks.
Jes
