But, are you also suggesting that the Democrats are in unison on their  point
of view about immigration?   What, then, is that point of  view?  Or, at
least, the California Democratic party point of view?

I replied to Eric on this point a few days ago. Frankly, what the Dems think on this issue is irrelevant. They don't control Congress, so whether they're for, against, whatever, it doesn't matter.


The Dems stay out of the issue, because to be on any side of the issue will offend whomever is on the other side of the issue. If they're for immigration, then the anti-Mexicans will get upset. And vice-versa. So, take a bland position and make bleating noises about how immigrants built this great nation (a patriotic note), but wring the hands over border security (strong on defense) while agreeing that crime is concern (Lawn Order).

But the main point: the Dems are irrelevant.

The Big Vote is tomorrow in the Senate.
