A chronic problem like > diabetes is a shoe-in. ck: I think your doctor friend was referring to healthcare for women with children who are under age 18. Yes, if they're very poor, they qualify for Medicaid/Medicare. Which is a great reason for poor women to keep having babies. Which keeps them from going back to school and earning more (ostensibly). Which is why Clinton pushed through that Welfare reform--which mandates that even women with children must go to work within 18 months of their last child's birth. Which is why women keep having more babies... No accusations, believe me. I don't see why any 18 year-old mother of two would willingly work for $6/hr, sans benefits. That's the option, in most cases. I was working with the Welfare-to-Work program--a transitional program--last year. It's a hard one to sell, I'll tellya. But were any of my clients Hispanic illegals? I wouldn't know. It's illegal to ask!
