Loss of natural habitat notwithstanding, they are dangerous animals to have around where your dogs are, especially if you have a litter of puppies. When it comes to coyotes, I have no problem with killing them. They also eat cats. It's a favorite meal for them. We had several cats missing around here and the police were called, they sent the Game Warden who found a den of coyotes and the remains of about 5 cats! He told us cats are easy pickins for coyotes, would rather have them than rabbits!
