Some interesting stories of coyotes. Here are two more.
Many years ago, when i was too young to have better sense, a
client bought in a coyote to the kennel where I was doing some
obedience training. The coyote trained beautifully and performed
all the exercises but could never be taken off lead. A bit disconcerting
at first was his way of affectionate greeting : he barred his teeth and
  hissed.
Another, My daughter's family Corgi was in season, and a coyote
fell in lust with her. He lay by her pen for two weeks, whining and
wagging. When a person went out, he moved a short distance away
and waited for them to leave. She seemed to like him as well.
              Cheers, Carolyn
