Yes, they do like cats. My daughter had a beautiful Persian. She let her out to go potty, then saw her on the window sill wanting to come back in. While she tried to open the window a coyote came and picked her right off the window. My daughter screamed and ran outside, the coyote dropped the cat but it was already too late, she was dead. It just killed my daughter to see this happen right in front of her eyes and not being able to help. Just a couple of weeks ago my dogs were very agitated so I knew there was something in the alley. I looked over the wall and there was a coyote walking slowly past the wall. It looked very skinny and obviously had mange. I live in the middle of town, away from the desert, so that was somewhat unusual. While I do not have any puppies or cats, I still worry about them as they could have rabies. When I called neither the city nor county were interested in pursuing this any further and said the coyote might have long gone by the time they got there - how right they were!
