Oh you are very Sweet, thank you , Chris! Sometimes we all have to re-align, we do it every few years just to be certain we are still on track. It is so easy to go different directions and then the "look " of your program is not consistent. Like a scope on a rifle , it may be spot on for awhile and need minor adjustments to stay on target , as you use it. We make hard decisions, breaks my heart sometimes to re-home a dog or bitch that I was CERTAIN would be what we wanted....I am a real softee, and I get so attached. More than once we have ended up with dogs that well, aren't part of our breeding program ideals , but I just love them so much. In the end, we do make the cuts we need to (not into collecting dogs, you know) and we are always happy we did. The long range thing is easier, once you figure out EXACTLY what you are trying to do, and want. There may be a few "tweaks" along the way, but you still see your dogs embody most of what you want, as you go along, always trying to move forward. (the eternal struggle, lol) Linebreeding etc, is a wonderful tool. But careful, it is easy to "breed yourself into a corner" where you are getting the OPPOSITE of what you are trying to achieve by not going out, when you should.
