This is the biggest crock of shite you've ever foisted on this list...or
anywhere for that matter!

The ATSC standard was finished and before the FCC for a couple of years before
being passed on December 24th, 1996.  To suggest that the first 8VSB signal
wasn't transmitted over the air until six months prior to that is more than
ridiculous.

It took 30 seconds of searching to find this:

"The VSB transmission sub-system had been field-tested alone in Charlotte in
1994."

"Testing of the complete Grand Alliance system started in April 1995 and was
completed in August of that year."

"Following completion of its work to document the U.S. ATV standard, the ATSC
membership approved it as the ATSC Digital Television Standard (A/53) on
September 16, 1995."
