which is where we disagree. IMO the MLM software is more like an MTA than
an MUA.
This can be debated. I'd like to know why you think of mailman as an
MTA. RFC 2821 section 2.3.3 says:
"Mail User Agents" (MUAs or UAs) are normally thought of as the
sources and targets of mail.
In the case of ilugc, I send the email to ilugc@ae - the target -
which is mailman, and the emails I get have envelop sender set to
ilugc-bounces@ae - the source - which is also mailman.
(It also says:
the implied boundaries between MUAs and MTAs often do not accurately
match common, and conforming, practices with Internet mail.)
