Didn't the beginnings of the GPS by Sendero start by running on the PC? My
laptop is heavy, and I don't think I want to carry it around, but maybe
ultimately, running the GPS from a phone will be the ultimate answer.

Especially since these notetakers seem to be dying off, due to price,
relatively limited functionality, and proprietary architecture and software,
will Sendero be considering a gps solution that can run on the pc platform?
I'm asking because I know there's the pc maps now, and it doesn't seem to be
too far out of reach. Keep in mind I'm only a consumer and don't really know
what it takes to create this. It would be great though because I hate to be
tied to any solution that doesn't allow for me to
upgrade the platform or software on my own. That's what I hate about the
notetakers, and they are much much more expensive than a laptop or a netbook
or something and without the ability to expand it.

I'm hoping this is possible though.

Just asking?

Thanks a lot.

This concerns me too, as I have a voice Sense which needs to go in for its
third keyboard replacement.
We heard in June about the demise of the trekker, then at the end of August
the swan song of the Pk was heard loud and clear across the 'net. now this?
That clearly signals to me the death nell of the specialized notetaking
devices.
Quite honestly I am surprised that we haven't heard same about thePacmate.
It is good that people like Mike May are striving to look forward rather
than backward, and I see lots of hope with this look around for the i-phone.
