Hi there,
Are you saying that you downloaded a book to proofread that has no page
numbers in it?
If so, either contact the scanner/submitter of the book and ask if the print
copy of the book had page numbers, but for some reason they didn't scan, or
provide us here with the ISBN of the book and someone can either look on
Amazon and see if by peeking at the book they can determine whether the book
had printed page numbers, or check it out from a library and find out that
way.
If the print book has page numbers, please put them in by hand. If the
print book did not have page numbers,then we'll have to determine whether we
need to have you add them or can just let Bookshare's conversion tools add
them in, if it will without any at all being present in the rtf file.
I suspect that you'll need to add them in by hand in any case. It's just a
matter of figuring out whether page Arabic 1 should fall on the first actual
page of the book, or the first page after the preliminary material.
