I'm told that there are some idiots who claim that man has never
landed on the moon, and that all the photos were taken in a studio!
Well the laser reflector proves conclusively that they did land, because
it is used practically every week by astronomers.

I'm not going to say the man on the moon stunt was faked or real. Either way
though Alan you are not wise using the mirror as a proof they did go there.
I mean no man would be needed to place that mirror there.

This is an example of what I mean when I say you use evidence irrationally
to support your bias towards science as though it could do no wrong. Not all
scientists are non political, and we all know how politics stinks. To give
you due, though, religion likewise. Not all churchmen believe in Hell if
they tell a lie. There was a scientist, a priest, who faked the Peking
man.............Hmmm Double Jeopardy lol.

Philip.
For what its worth I was on duty camera operator for TV Seven during the
live telecast, and from my frame of reference it looked pretty good. All the
movements pointed to 0.16 g/earth. Now why wouldn't there be some studio
produced promotional photos? Sounds like good sense.

Oh come on! Radar has been in use since the 2nd world war!
You send an incredibly high power radar pulse out, and it reflects back
off the object you're looking at, and when it returns you see how long it
has taken to do the double journey, and work it out by distance = speed x
time.

They do the same with laser beams to the moon, reflecting it off
the reflector which the astronauts from Apollo 14 left on the moon for
that purpose. They can measure the distance to the moon to within a
millimetre!
