Alan said, This is another case of
geocentricists trying to make something which is straightforward more
complicated in order to muddy the waters!

It is presumptuous to ascribe such a motive to geocentrists.

Perhaps it is more likely a case of trying to get some peoples heads out of
muddy waters into the light of a more complete comprehension of our physical
universe.

Some of Charles Darwins theories on natural selection are true, even though
they do not prove a evolution. But even though opposed to the then current
science, would any one say he proposed them to muddy the waters.

Since when is complication versus simplicity to be held as a valid reason
for rejecting a proposition. I would hardly say that resorting to
"relativistic doppler effect" and "Lorentz" equations as being a simple
means of explanation of the red shift in light simply because they cannot
accept the existence of an aether.

Doppler theory in sound or light are completely compatible with there being
an aether. No need for any complicated alternatives.

Philip.
