In Texas we have oil rigs out in the Gulf of Mexico that use 220 VAC.
I assume 110 is not available there. Many years ago I had a Sony come 
in the shop with a power supply problem and the AC cord had been cut
and a new 110 V plug was added.  No one told me it was 220 and after
I got the supply running it had low voltage, kind of like a bad 5U4.
I did not have the exact schematic and it was hard to convince anyone
that it really needed 220 v.  It is now common knowledge that the off shore
rigs run 220 VAC.

I do not have the answer on the CTC187.
