Start this puppy in Safe Mode.
If it boots up quickly, then you know for sure something is trying to 
load that's slowing you down. It could be processes you don't even know 
about, a mapped rive, as someone mentioned or a crummy driver.
Bootvis will probably help, but I rend to agree that a reformat is the 
quickest solution:
