Jo Ann,

Please do not use just any hammer.  The Sears Craftsman 16 pound sledge 
hammer is specifically designed for uses such as this.  If you have any 
problems using this highly technical hammer, that 16 year old smart-aleck 
down the street knows more than you and I combined will ever know... just 
ask nicely and you'll get all the help you need.  If you have to resort to a 
little bribery to get some help, remember that cookies and milk don't work 
well any more.
