No the permissions on the server...the ones on the anti virus. What anti
virus are you using...can't remember exactly which version has this
problem a lot...something Associates. Maybe Network Associates?
Anyway...ask what antivirus you use on both. 

Bottom line...this IS the reason why docs lockout users as read only
like this. Temp or antivirus versions of the files are SOMEWHERE and you
need to find out where they're being locked out/not properly
closed/ghosted.

Try searching the server for ~*.* files.

In both cases - at our client and at our office here - the files in
question are being saved on a Small Business Server 2000 network, not on
the local hard drive.  We've been maniacally checking permissions though
and haven't found anything that would suggest that the permissions are
wrong though.
