[mso] Re: Office XP and mysteriously read-only files

I know a few times when I've seen this, the only workaround we could come up
with was to have the user copy the file to their local drive, make the
changes, save the changes, then copy the file back to the network drive.

I know that's a PITA, but I distinctly remember situations where this was
the only way we could get it to work.  Or, now that I think of it, I think
creating a new folder on the network and moving all the files there also
worked in some cases.

That's about all I can remember....it's been a long time since I troubleshot
Office on a network.

But, Dian mentioned something about it being some permissions in the AV
software that was preventing the changes to a network file.  Did you check
this?

I just checked the user's rights and he is not missing any permissions
on the documents he was working with.  This is perplexing.  Thanks for
the article though.
