I've seen this behavior when the files are stored on a network drive and it has something to do with the network permissions. Are these files being saved on a network drive or locally on her hard drive? User verifies that the document is NOT open by another user. User also verifies file attributes on the document and read-only is not checked. Only way around this is to "Save As" and give the document a slightly different name. The next day the original document behaves normally again. No changes to the system between the two days. I've had behavior like this both at our office and at one of our clients (we are a small IT consulting firm). Thanks!
