Hi Daniel,
The progress announcement follows how the download of the page progresses.  
Depending on Internet traffic, it might start slowly because of a graphic and 
then speed up when the traffic allows it.  JAWS is just following this.  When 
we didn't have it, I would monitor the page download by Insert Page Down.  When 
I heard "Done Internet," I knew the page was fully loaded.  Personally, I like 
the progress announcement, but I know that if I don't want it, I can turn it 
off.
