This doesn't work >on my system - whilst the pinboard is aware of the iconised windows, and >can restore them, they are not visible on the desktop. > I am not talking about the Pinboard as such - My Pinboards are setup in a customised way by an Obey file when I open certain directories, in order to create specific environments. (But if you want to stick something else on the Pinboard, you can of course just drag and drop it). What I am talking about is the System Iconise facility, which uses the Iconise button in the top left hand corner of all directories and files (when facility switched on in !Boot). In !Boot it has 6 setup options for location of the iconised file or directory - Top left, bottom left, top right, bottom right, Iconbar and Button. Only directories appear on the screen after using any of the first four options, but both directories and files appear using either of the last two (Iconbar, Button). If you have your system setup to use one of the first four options and you iconise a file, it disappears, and if you double click on its icon, you get an error message that it is already loaded. You then cannot access that file again (because it's not showing n the screen), until you reset the machine. I may not have explained myself very clearly previously and hope that this now clarifies the situation.
