I believe the refill units that you fill yourself actually work better =
than some of the pre-filled generics (at least from what I've read). =
Problem is, even the so-called "experts" that do the reviews and lab =
tests with these products have said that its always very messy. Once it =
actually filled and printing, most work better than the pre-filled. I'm =
curious if anyone here has actually tried the kits for refilling your =
own cartridges, and what the results were.

I always heard that you'd kill your printer if you re-filled the =
cartridges yourself.=20
I've never used anything but the brand - but I would have figured if =
they were re-done by a company, they would have been better than filling =
them yourself. hmmm!!=20

Will using cheap ink break your printer? No. Could it? Yes. It's=20
like smoking... might catch up with you, might not. Ok... maybe=20
not the best comparison, but you know what I mean.

Hmmmmmm -- well I am going to toss something else out at you.=20
Depends on what you use your printer for. I don't print photos=20
using my printer -- simple b/w pages.

Also dot matrix printers are less expensive and some at=20
throw-away prices. Meaning you can buy the printer for less=20
than what it would cost you to buy 2 additional cartridges of=20
branded ink.

I also have a HP printer and I asked the specialist in the next=20
town who sells refurbished black ink cartridges and he said the=20
branded ones have less ink in them than what he puts in. I can=20
attest to that fact because I got twice the number of copies=20
from his generic cartridges than HP's cartridges.

I don't think the places like Tori mentioned would continue to=20
stay in business or the one I originally used online if they=20
didn't sell good ink in their generic or reused cartridges.

But we all have opinions -- my HP has been going strong for 7=20
years with the **cheaper** ink in it for the last 4 years.

And yes I smoke also (LOL)
