To which I replied: Mark Aitken's plan is to make use of the multicast/broadcast optional feature of LTE (which has not yet been fully developed in LTE, last I saw on this), and also to provide some two-way service, over the medium. In case this isn't obvious, let me add this: If you're using the multicast/broadcast feature of LTE, as Mark proposes, it means that you still want to deliver live streams. Not just on-demand streams. These "live streams" can be converted to "on-demand" the old-fashioned way, with local storage in the receiving device. Or you can use the two-way service, over this new infrastructure, for the on-demand service. And again, none of this is new to broadcasters.
