I agree. Unfortunately, you're NOT dealing with only engineering types.

The question is, what happens if 8-VSB still comes out really bad? My
answer to that is twofold:

1. With the amount of support DTT has been getting here, a cynic might
ask "who cares?"

2. If, as I expect, 8-VSB will come out okay, with some pluses and some
minuses compared with COFDM, *then* perhaps the chronic negativism will
subside. Just as the chronic complaining about high prices subsides,
only AFTER people see low-cost products on store shelves.

So, to me, there is no downside to running another set of tests. It
seems that people in general enjoy playing devil's advocate. Pessimism
sells better, even when it's not supported by what should be clear
trends.
