here, if CE manufacturers didn't see a lot of demand for OTA, they just
wouldn't bother to make COFDM products geared to the US market (60 Hz
power, 6 MHz channel width, and all the other detailed differences this
market would have).

As opposed to a market that uses HD and 7 MHz channels, and consists of fewer than ten million television households? Riiiight.

Since we're going around in circles, don't forget that the vast
majority, if not 100 percent, of what's in a DTT receiver can be
IDENTICAL for DVB-T and ATSC, if CE manufacturers saw enough demand for
both standards. Even combined demods are doable. And the rest is already
combined as it is.

Then we're back you your conspiracy theories as to why Australia has 80 different STBs (not integrated television, just STBs) without a federal mandate.
