Won't that be keeping those who can't express their thoughts in english
well away? Those who are good at English will continue to post in English
so why is it not good allowing more users to ask questions.
i dont think that people in the mailing list find it difficult in
expressing their thoughts in english. i am not against any language.
what i suggest is that, rather than going locally, we should go
internationally. every body in this list can understand english.
i see many people have difficulty only in talking. not in mailing list
asking questions.
well, as you might have noticed in the thread there are people who thinks
otherwise.
may be u r..

should be void of all language politics.
This is not about politics afaik and please don't pull it.
FYI, i hate politics.
because in the common
discussion place like chennai lug, people who are not multi lingual
might feel that they are isolated from the discussion.
If it is only in English won't the majority of the Tamil speaking people who
can't express thier thoughts in English well and with confident would feel
isolated?
if a person is able to use his computer to type his local language for
asking questions, i am damn sure that he should able to use computer
in english well. i hope everybody knows this...
also majority of tamil speaking people in this list can very well
express their thoughts in english in mailing list.
lets have all our questions / discussions in English please...
Nobody id forcing to use Tamil.
i am not forcing anyone here. i am giving out my suggestion that, lets
the mailing list discussion be in english. i am not the favour for
english or tamil or any other indic language. (you can view my blog in
tamil which is my private)
mailing list is something where people come here and share their
knowledge and gain knowledge. it should be through a common
communication language. i guess english is the only language many have
known.
any thoughts....
Well, I know only a bit of Tamil and if questions are asked in Tamil I may
not be able to reply to it (so are many others who don't know Tamil) but the
one who asked the question in Tamil would not have asked the question in the
first place if it is only in English so that argument is void.
I welcome the initiative to let people ask questions in their local
language.
i am not against this initiative. but i am worried that why not we
have a common language in which we can discuss?
